G.I. Joe, A Real American Hero! The franchise is still going strong, and some of the top collectible makers have put their own spin on its iconic characters. In this Out of the Box video, Turco unboxes the many forms of Destro from Icon Heroes, Super7, Hasbro and Diamond Select Toys.

What's in the video

G.I. Joe is a Hasbro brand that keeps evolving with the times. Between the action figures, playsets, comics and the popular animated series, it has earned its place in pop culture, along with the promise "Wherever there's trouble, G.I. Joe is there!" Hasbro still owns the license but lets other top collectible companies create their own versions of the characters, and few are more iconic than Destro.

Destro is the faceless power behind MARS Industries, the largest maker of state-of-the-art weaponry, and he sells high-tech arms to any side that can meet his price. Family tradition says the head of the firm always wears a polished steel mask in public. He respects the Joes' combat skills, but he thinks they waste them keeping the peace, and he'd be happy to see them destroyed.
